MMIS 656 Web Design Technologies (3 Credits)
Prerequisites: MMIS 654
A hands-on introduction to a variety of technologies involved in the design, development, and implementation of Websites. The course provides an overview with hands-on examples for Web design and development, including database-backed dynamic content generation and emerging technologies in Internet content delivery. Topics include fundamentals of Web design and development technologies, including technologies such as XHTML, cascading style sheets, JavaScript, XML, Flash, PHP, Ajax, Java Web Software, ASP.NET, and Ruby. Students are expected to have a fundamental knowledge of at least one programming language.
